We are in the 21st century and we still " eek" or leave empty the important topics of sex education in the LGBTQ+ community. Kids are coming out as gay, bi, trans, etc. at such a young age but we consistently stick to the heteronormative agenda and not branch out to be inclusive. What are some ways to bring intersectionality at a secondary level of education?

I think that children should be taught about the LGBTQ+ community at the same time when they learn the "girls" and "boys" are. I have had a conversation with a preschool teacher and they mentioned that it would be too confusing for kids to understand trans and non-binary individuals. That did not make any sense to me because kids do not understand anything until they are taught it so if it is taught early they would not grow to not understand.
Honestly, I feel as though more textbooks need to open childrens minds at a young age to the IDEA of being gay,bi,pan, trans, etc. I think because social media plays a BIG role in the LGBTQ+ community and because it is gradually becoming more and more accepted, I feel as though it should be something produced for more people to know about. For example, I saw in a Blues Clues episode that there was a acknowledgement of the LGBTQ+ community. I feel as though there needs to be more of that content so people at a young age can know to just be themselves. Granted some parents may try to censor their kids from this things, but the fact of the matter is; its not about being gay, its about treating people with respect and kindness.
